The organisers of the World Poker Tour officially revealed that Phil “The Poker Brat” Hellmuth has become part of the WPT Talent Team. The player, who apart from being one of the most recognizable and popular poker players, is also a 14-time world champion, has joined the team of the World Poker Tour in order to become the new WPT Raw Deal analyst.
Adam Pliska, Chief Executive Officer of the WPT, welcomed Phil Hellmuth as the new WPT Raw Deal analyst, saying it was a great pleasure for the organisers of the World Poker Tour to sign Hellmuth as part of the team. Mr. Pliska also described Hellmuth as the perfect successor of Tony Dunst thanks to the player’s vast experience and expertise in poker, calling him everything the World Poker Tour looked for in its Raw Deal analyst.
After he joins the WPT team, Hellmuth is to become a WPT Raw Deal segment host, offering his professional commentary and analysis on certain hands over the broadcasts of the World Poker Tour. His début as a WPT Raw Deal analysts will take place over the WSPT Choctaw tournament’s Season XVI which is to be televised.
The addition of Hellmuth as an analyst became possible after the former WPT Raw Deal analyst Tony Dunst was promoted as a commentator for WPT along with Vince Van Patten. The high-stakes poker professional Tony Dunst joined the team of the WPT as host of the WPT Raw Deal Segment for Season IX. He got promoted to the commentary booth after Mike Sexton announced his retirement from the position and is to take over his new role at the beginning of Season XVI.
Now, Phil Hellmuth, whose record of accomplishments is legendary, is considered the perfect addition to the WPT Raw Deal analysts team thanks to his vast experience and knowledge of the game, confidence and bold opinions.
Hellmuth, whose total live earnings currently amount to almost $21,400,000, commented on his appointment, saying he it was a great honour for him to become part of the WPT Raw Deal analyst team. He further expressed his gratitude to the Chief Executive Officer of the World Poker Tour, Adam Pliska, for providing him with the opportunity to join the team of the WPT. Phil Hellmuth also shared that he was impatient to offering his commentary analysis as WPT Raw Deal’s host.
Over his 30-year-long career as a professional poker player, Phil Hellmuth has managed to finish in the money in approximately 300 live tournaments. As mentioned above, his live tournament winnings amount to more than $21 million, with his best live cash for the time being worth $2,645,333. Only on the World Poker Tour alone, “The Poker Brat” has managed to cash 13 times, with four official WPT tables reached to date. The player’s World Poker Tour winnings are estimated to over $1.1 million.
